America Diary V

My stay in US has been extended by one more month and on last week I shifted from Riverside to San Bernardino, staying at Hilton Garden Inn hotel on Waterman avenue. Whether Riverside or San Bernardino, its the same wide roads, palm trees and the unbearable heat. During weekends it was impossible for me to sit in the hotel room and at the same time it was difficult to go out in the heat. But on last Sunday, finally I went out  to get rid of my loneliness in the temperature of 39 degree Celsius to only found that loneliness, my companion from past few days is following me. I found those huge wide roads nearly empty, occasionally, I got to see few cars going with a speed of not less than 80 kilometers per hour and then silence till next bunch of cars come in the picture. This was something I had never expected to experience, how the roads, bus stops and pedestrian paths can be empty, almost for all the times? First time in my life I was searching for people on the roads and I could not find them. Then I took the snaps of the empty roads, empty bus stops, the palm trees, the shops, the sunset, the surrounding mountains, the cars but not the people....

My days in Japan : I

Sometime your silent, straightforward life takes sudden turn, it changes drastically, you don't get time to prepare yourself  to face the new era of your life. In a same way, my life took a sharp turn in 2006, I was switching my job to company having customers in Japan. I joined the company office based in Pune. The induction and other formalities took place and my life in the new company started. I was happy and first few days passed in that happiness. But you quickly get bored at new place if you are not assigned any interesting work and same thing was happening to me. That boredom was irritating me and occasionally, thoughts of one more switch started coming to my mind. I was not doing any interesting or so called challenging work for almost next two months and finally on one fine morning I decided to ask my management about this and if they don't respond positively I was thinking to quit this job and find the new one. I talked to my manager and conveyed h...

Sometimes few silent moments comes in your life and suddenly it starts recalling your nostalgia. The moments which are stored  safely in the corner of your memory, starts coming out. You don't have to be a great or famous to recall or to write your memories. Everybody has something from his past, few magical moments that counts, his own audience to listen. I am also not exception to that, there are some moments which makes me sad, pride and smile.      It is said that when you start recalling the events from the past too often, it  indicates that mentally you are getting old. But who cares?? I love to wander in the past, to enjoy the magic moments again and to forget the present for  some time. Most of the times we remain busy in our daily routine, we think less and behave like machines, we keep working all the day, then we go back to our home, we spend some time with our family members, then we end our day by going to bed and start a new...

My days in Japan: III

It was late in the night according to local time when our flight landed on Narita airport. We were standing in the queue for immigration. "We are almost 2 hours late", my friend muttered. I saw in wall clock it was showing 11:30. "Now at least two hours to reach the apartment at Rokugoudote", I said to myself, a distance of approximately 65 kilo-meters. I was worried about the mode of transport, I was totally unaware of the fact that the taxi which was supposed to pick up us from Narita airport was already gone. Immigration officer demanded my passport and invitation letter then he looked at me and called his colleague, discussed something with him. His colleague then asked me whether anybody is accompanying me, after I pointed my finger to my friend both of us were told to wait in some waiting room. He did not ask us any single question or not even explanation for something. We were sitting there for almost half an hour like a statue, I was so tired that I was not...
